HIST 465: Mestizos, Métis, and Mulattos: Mixed-Race People in the Atlantic World, 1400-1850

This course examines how race worked in the Atlantic World (Africa, Europe, and the Americas) between 1400 and 1850 through the perspectives of mixed-race individuals and communities. We will use a comparative framework to understand how people created, resisted, and used their cross-racial identities to navigate their lives. (Also listed as Ethnic Studies 465)
